When a Full-Term Pregnancy Ends Tragically

I’ve just been reading this post on a blog on the New York Times.

I wasn’t even looking for it, I was searching for references to ‘Bury my heart at Wounded Knee’ which I am reading at the moment (and enjoying), but when I saw the title it was bound to get read.

You may be interested, there are lots of comments in response to an email from a woman who didn’t know how to support someone who had just lost a baby the day before his due date.

For me it made me reflect on some of the nice things friends and family have done for Irishmam and I…and some of the things that have been hurtful.

By the way, Bury my heart at wounded knee – a book I have lurked around for years without getting around to reading — is proving to be a compelling read. Now I have a whole lot more places on my ‘would like to see’ list. Having just finished ‘What is the What’ by Dave Eggars, a book about the Lost Boys of Sudan, this has turned out to be Displaced Persons month in the Irishdad household.

Night now.
